Η Λαμία (αναφερόμενη από τον 8ο μέχρι το 19ο αιώνα με το όνομα Ζητούνι) είναι πόλη και πρωτεύουσα της Περιφερειακής Ενότητας Φθιώτιδας. Έχει πληθυσμό 52.006 κατοίκους και βρίσκεται στις πλαγιές του όρους Όθρυς, κοντά στον ποταμό Σπερχειό. Αποτελεί κέντρο εύφορης αγροτικής και κτηνοτροφικής περιοχής.

Lamia (referred to from the 8th to the 19th century under the name Zitouni) is the city and capital of the Regional Unity of Fthiotida. It has a population of 52,006 inhabitants and is situated on the slopes of Mount Othrys, near the Sperhios River. It is a center of fertile farming and livestock.
